The new DPS-2 is an exceptional linear power supply that not only boasts impressive specifications but also offers a range of unique and highly useful features. For instance, the compact device has two differently filtered outputs. The housing and front panel of the DPS-2 are based on the ADI-2 series and house RME's innovative circuit design in a half-rack width. The linear output is a conventional DC output, but with multi-stage passive and active filtering, including a 30,000 μF capacitor bank, a ferrite inductor, and an active output filter with a hybrid voltage regulator. The second output is based on RME's μFilter technology. The pre-filtered linear output signal is also processed by highly efficient active filters to achieve an exceptionally clean DC output with only a few μV of noise. Additionally, the output features sensor technology that measures and adjusts the output voltage directly at the DC connector of the supplied DC cable. This results in an extremely low output impedance and load regulation that ensures a clean output voltage of +12.0 V at a load of 2.5 A, completely avoiding any load-dependent voltage drop. The use of a two-stage RF filter and a DC filter on the AC side further allows the DPS-2 to deliver optimal performance without noise. This is also supported by the 60 VA audio toroidal transformer with an additional isolation winding and magnetic shielding, which guarantees absolutely hum-free operation in all situations.
