Product details
Rolf Dennemann, director, actor, and author, has now recalled the stories surrounding food after "Dman's Diary" and the title of European Capital of Culture 2010. He chronologically describes the journey of the omnivore - from his grandmother's farm to the one-person kitchen of a fifty-something in the Ruhr area. Growing up on the farm, he stirred blood after the slaughter and helped his grandmother shell peas. As a teenager in Gelsenkirchen, Friday meals included herring salad with jelly and fried potatoes with bacon once a week. His first own dishes were fish sticks and sandwiches with beetroot spread. This was followed by pizza, pasta, turkey breast, albondigas, and patatas bravas, stuffed lamb loin, peas and carrots, kale, köfte, sea bream, and scrambled eggs in four-star hotels. For some time now, he has repeatedly envisioned the gaze of the cow Elvira.
