The Modicon modular safety controller XPSMCM allows for easy configuration of safety applications and flexible expansion of the system with modules according to the application. This central unit (CPU) of version 2 is the basic module required for any safety system in machines and plants. The processing of the configured safety application takes place within the CPU. It offers 8 safe digital inputs, 4 safe OSSD outputs, and 2 status outputs. Up to 14 expansion modules allow for a total connection of up to 128 safe inputs and 32 safe outputs, 48 signaling outputs, as well as speed detection and analog value evaluation. Configuration is performed by the user with the freely available SoSafe Configurable software via USB connection from a PC. An additional rear bus connector, which must be ordered separately, allows for the connection of expansion modules. Therefore, this CPU order number is particularly suitable for stand-alone applications without planned expansions. The supply voltage is 24 VDC. The module features detachable screw terminals and has a width of 22.5 mm.
