The name Core Units results from their application, because they represent the "core" of the Shimoda system. The modular versatility of the inlays allows a wide range of uses. The Core unit medium was developed for the protection and transport of larger camera bodies - but this does not mean that it is limited exclusively to this use. It can be used in combination with any camera, but is optimal for bodies with greater depth. The modular design means that the inlay can be used alone or in combination with a small inlay. Having a small and a medium inlay allows three application options: the narrow inlay alone - the medium inlay alone - or both inlays together.
