Product details
In his autobiography, the narrator, who is over a hundred years old, takes readers from his childhood in Lehel to the present day. The table of contents on the preview page provides an overview of the key milestones in this journey through a tumultuous century. The life story is complemented by 75 black-and-white photographs. Some historical facts related to time and place may also be of interest to historians, but what will appeal to a broader readership with various interests, both young and old (and not just Munich residents!), is primarily the fact that the past century is presented from the perspective of the common man, zoomed in on human experiences, so to speak, as a lived life. Along the way, the narrator also addresses questions he is frequently asked: how does one live to such an old age, and how should aging be generally assessed?.
