This biography was supposed to be about one of the most famous musicians in post-war German history, but it is not a reckoning with Udo Lindenberg. Unfortunately, things turned out differently, as the research on the man from Gronau revealed. Many documented snippets, newspaper articles, Lindenberg's "flashes of inspiration," and documents surfaced, leading to the impression that Udo Lindenberg might just be a tall tale from Gronau. However, a huge advertising budget, by my standards, smooths over all the cracks that Udo Lindenberg leaves behind the scenes. Only a few leaks in Lindenberg's "Andrea Doria" cannot be patched or concealed. The many warm words from prominent figures, with whom he has been awarded numerous prizes in recent years, certainly warrant a memorable reflection.
