The Varia Clip connection cable (pigtail) is suitable for FRITZ!Box and Speedport routers. It enables an external antenna to be attached. The conversion is completed in just a few minutes.

The conversion kit has the same bayonet connection as FRITZ! and Speedport. An additional connection cable (pigtail) and cover are therefore not required. It is also not necessary to change the cover or insert washers. In fact, only the old antenna needs to be replaced with this clip pigtail. The external antenna also makes it easier to adjust the beam angle. This often makes it easier or even possible to achieve better signal strength in difficult locations.

The RG178 cable:

RG178 is one of the extremely thin high-frequency cables. It has an impedance of 50 ohms and is characterised by a diameter of only 1.81 mm, a stranded inner conductor consisting of 7x 0.102 mm wires and a bending radius of 10 mm. These characteristics are only undercut by the U.FL cable. At 1 MHz, the RG178 has an attenuation of 12 dB/km. The usable frequency range extends over the ISM band at 2.4 GHz. At this frequency, the attenuation is 2.5 dB/m. The cable sheath is made of FEP, which is why the cable is also suitable for high-quality applications in a high temperature range.
