The Aptaris 15mm Universal LWS Base Plate is the perfect foundation for nearly all cameras. Thanks to the included spacer rods, the base plate can be adjusted so that the lens is at the correct distance from the rods, allowing for the use of a follow focus or a matte box—whether it's a DSLR/CSC or a professional film camera like the Canon C300. This base plate, produced in Germany, was developed in collaboration with professional filmmakers. Many details help achieve optimal results during filming and ensure maximum flexibility.

For cameras that are mounted with only one screw, the base plate features a twist lock that keeps the camera securely in place even under heavy use. Some viewfinders and battery grips also offset the tripod thread by a few millimeters, causing the lens to no longer align centrally with the rods. The special design of the camera plate compensates for this offset. Multiple 1/4 inch threads on all sides allow for the convenient attachment of additional accessories via articulated arms. For mounting on a video tripod, the base plate has 3 x 3/8 inch threads on the bottom. Included in the package are 3 x 3/8 inch to 1/4 inch adapters to work with most tripod systems. For low-angle shots, an optional carrying handle can also be attached to the base plate.

Thanks to the 15mm Light-Weight-Support standard, you can quickly expand the base plate into a compact shoulder rig in combination with the Aptaris grip module and the Aptaris shoulder module.
