Here we go! The models of the FG800 series were developed taking into account the feedback from numerous professional guitarists and customers. We found that many aspects should remain unchanged, but there was also a recent request: the whole world wanted to rediscover the unique character of the FG180, but with a bit more volume, a bit more bass, and a bit more punch. This has now been achieved with the FG800 series!

New scalloped bracing. To achieve this goal, we relied on a powerful program that can analyze and simulate the tonal characteristics of this mythical guitar. This allowed us to accurately capture the impact of the bracing on overall volume, projection, responsiveness, and above all, the uniqueness of the guitar, and to modify it according to the requirements of guitarists.
Yamaha celebrates the 50th anniversary of its acoustic guitars and proudly presents its new FG800 guitar series. This new historic guitar series will succeed the FG700.
A concentrate of technology: 2 different formats: FG: a folk western format with a full sound. FS: a compact "small" format with a percussive and punchy sound.
The FG series was launched in 1966 with the aim of providing guitarists with an affordable, practical, and contemporary instrument. This is the commitment we want to pass on to this unique series.
