To protect against moisture, the sticks are coated with a special wax. They are produced using a unique woodworking technique that protects the wood and enhances the fibers, making them more durable in critical areas.
Wincent addresses the common weak points of wooden sticks: the well-shaped and pleasant-sounding tip can wear down or develop sharp burrs, the conically shaped neck may fray from crash cymbals, and the rimshot area can become damaged with sharp splinters over time. To maintain the integrity of the tip, Wincent avoids cutting or sawing, which can create edges and cracks. Instead, they gently grind it to shape with a stone, preserving the wood fibers.
To prevent notches and enhance overall durability, a special wax is applied, acting as a sealant to keep the surface smooth. This wax, combined with optimized humidity, is hard enough for heavy playing yet flexible enough to withstand rim and cymbal hits.
The range of models is extensive. Wincent offers standard sizes 7A, 5A, and 5B as XL versions with the same diameter but increased length, and the 5B is available as an XXL for extra punch and reach. The 55 Fusion and 55 XL versions bridge the gap between the 5A and 5B and their XL counterparts. The 7A XL, although shorter than the standard, is very playable and serves as a fully functional and versatile stick.
