A fortnight ago I bought an HP EliteBook 850 G6 (15.60", UHD, Intel Core i7-8565U, 16GB, 1000GB, SSD) item no. 11486683. I also bought this docking station, which is also recommended/advertised for the EliteBook. When I use it, I get this error message from HP Smart Adapter: "The connected Smart Adapter is providing your computer with sufficient power, but you may have limited computing power. Your computer is designed to adjust power as needed when a low-capacity Smart Adapter is connected. Running resource-intensive tasks may cause your system to underperform when using a low-capacity smart power supply. Connect a higher capacity smart power supply to enable full performance. HP offers a wide range of smart power supplies for your travel needs or as replacement parts. Smart power supplies and other accessories are available at select retailers." 1. why does digitec-FACHHANDEL recommend unsuitable peripherals for my product? 2. which docking station is suitable for my product?
Hello, had this message too. HP doesn't seem to offer any other docking stations, so the message is forgettable. My Elitebook has enough power. It doesn't run optimally for other reasons - hope that's not the case with you....
Advantage of this docking is that it also runs with other laptops - disadvantage from my point of view: it is too big and heavy.
