In my case, two multi ports do not recognise the external display via HDMI... (1st device and its replacement, which I received from Galaxus without a word).

The problem does not occur with my iPad Pro, i.e. the HDMI connection works right away at the first attempt. To determine whether the port is actually defective, I would connect the adapter to another device to check whether the faulty behaviour can be reproduced.
