Can a gear shift be fitted to this model without any problems or do I need accessories? - And if so, which are compatible?

No, no gear shift can be attached, or nothing is prepared.
I have the G27 from Logitech. For the gear shift, I simply clamped a board under the steering wheel and attached the gear lever to the board. It's a small effort and works perfectly.
