Can any Windows laptop be connected to the docking station?

I have just read that my ACER Nitro 5 AN515-51-71ES does not support Thunderbolt. However, there should still be a connection to the dock with USB-C. Unfortunately, my laptop still does not recognise the dock. I don't dare try to drive the bios.

The minimum requirement is USB-C with DP symbol next to the port (DP Alternate Mode). Then a 10Gbit connection is possible and 2 monitors can be connected (at lower resolution).
PD (power delivery) is required for the charging function.
USB-C with Thunderbolt (lightning symbol next to the connector) is recommended. Then the connection is 40Gbit and up to 3 monitors can be connected.
