I've been wearing this thing since the release date, the strap is very good and shouldn't break so quickly, the strap can be changed, even according to Google, but you have to unscrew 4 small screws on the back of the watch. The problem is rather where to get a replacement wristband ;)
The watch is great, for the small size (compared to the bulky predecessor, everything is inside, very comfortable to wear!
