Question about Dell WD19S

Does this docking station actually have a 5Gbps Ethernet port ? On the Dell site it says Gigabit Ethernet. I'm still not sure if I should go for Thunderbolt or USB C for the new notebook. As I understand it, Thunderbolt would be "better", but a 5Gbps port would be an argument for USB C and there is nothing about that on the WD19TBS.

I don't know if it has 5Gbps. I work on a 1GB network and often have to copy large amounts of data. It works well with the USB C. Faster is always better, but the rest must also be correspondingly fast. And that is usually not the case. So everything is good.
