Hello everyone! I've been using this hard drive for a few months now and it's working fine. However, I noticed an unknown noise, can someone please check if this is normal? The noise sounds a bit like a computer being killed by a power-off switch. So it's not the rotating noise or the typical "scratching/rattling" when reading/writing. And it doesn't sound quite as aggressive as when you kill a PC (à la "crashing aeroplane" ^^). It's just hard to describe... Could it be because the read head is parked when the HDD is not being accessed? But that would be the case with every HDD and should be noticed accordingly? However, I don't hear this noise on another device with an HDD... Thank you in advance and kind regards
Mine works in a PS4 without problems and silently!
My Seagate BarraCuda (2TB, 2.5") also makes such noises. At the beginning, I wasn't sure if it was parking or emergency parking.
Since the discs are in an external enclosure on a NAS, I don't hear them (or not any more).
