Hello. I would like to connect my MacBookAir 2017 with my old iMac 2013 as a display. Both have a Thunderbolt connection. Is this combination even possible and is the cable the right one for it? Thank you very much for your reply!

Chat GPT says here's how:
1. connect the two devices: plug a Thunderbolt cable into the Thunderbolt port of your iMac and into the Thunderbolt port of your MacBook Air.
2. activate the target display mode: Switch on both devices. Then press the key combination cmd + F2 on the keyboard of your iMac (some keyboards require you to press cmd + Fn + F2).

This should basically work via the target display mode. iMacs between 2009 and 2014 support this. But I've never tried it :D
