I have a MacBook Air M3 (2024) and two external screens with HDMI connected via this hub. Unfortunately, the two external displays (with the laptop closed) only work in mirror mode, not in extended mode. In fact, two screens are connected, it behaves like one display, played on both screens. Is there a solution? It used to work with Windows, but no longer with Mac.

Helpful answer

I suspect that it is a driver problem. I therefore use a Kensington docking station. And everything works via a USB-C (I also have 2 monitors). In the office we have HP docking stations, so I always start the DisplayLink Manager to make it work. As I said, probably a driver problem, the power from an Mx-Mac is completely sufficient, but is probably controlled by Apple, which hardware should work (therefore Kensington fits).

I had to connect a second USB-C with HDMI dongle to my Mac so that I could use 3 monitors. Apparently, only one screen can still be controlled via the USB-C port.

My Mac also only works with 1 screen. The employee at the Apple store also confirmed that it only works with 1 screen, unfortunately.
