I have loaded a single, large book (Epub) onto the brand new Pocketbook. Unfortunately, the Pocketbook is completely overwhelmed by it, it keeps getting stuck, when I want to go to the chapter selection, it closes the book, when I manage to get to the chapters, I usually can't select any, it gets stuck when I turn the pages, and it regularly opens the wrong footnote ... Is this normal? It's my first e-reader ... I expected something different based on the reviews and the tests ... so it is practically unusable, and that with only one book on it :-(
No, it shouldn't be normal and I know Kindle/Tolino and PocketBook, although I think the PocketBook model series (software) is "rubbish" and would rather recommend a Tolino. The question is whether it's the book or the device. There is also a web interface for reading the books you have on the PocketBook. I would try that and see if there are any problems with navigating the book.
My wife used a PocketBook for a long time and apart from it being sluggish and the software being tedious, it actually worked reliably. Also check if there is a software update available.
