Question about Targus USB-C Dual 4K

I have the dock connected to the USB C port and 1 external monitor via the dock. Mac recognises the screen but no picture is displayed. If I plug the HDMI cable directly into the Mac, it works. What is the problem? 😥

I have unfortunately been through 3 such docks from (50-150 CHF) and of course only the things from 200-300CHF work. I don't know why, probably something to do with non-existent USB-C standards. (Maybe change the cable?)
