Question about HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock

I use the DockingStation with 3 screens. Connecting a screen with HDMI changes the resolution and display of various programmes. If I unplug this screen before starting the notebook, start everything up and then plug it in again, the resolutions and displays suddenly match again. Does anyone here have an explanation?

The dock uses the USB Alt mode (basically DisplayPort via USB) with 3 screens with HD resolution or higher, the USB bandwidth is no longer sufficient for USB 3 and the controller must be "reduced" to USB 2. This only works with a restart. On some HP notebooks, you can activate a mode in the BIOS that reduces the USB speed to USB 2.0 in USB Alt mode. https://support.hp.com/us-en...
