I want to use it on full frame but not in APS-C mode. Can anyone show me at what focal length black edges become visible and how much? According to internet research so far (SonyAlphaBlog) it does quite well in full frame mode.

Such a question is better addressed in a specialist forum such as the German Sonyalphaforum.de. There are also users there who use this lens on full-frame. I don't understand the sense behind it myself. There is the FE 70-300 G for full-frame.
