I would like to assemble a PC again after about 20 years. How am I supposed to install the operating system if there is no data carrier?

Take a USB stick with at least 8GB and the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. Use this to create the installation medium. On the PC to be installed, simply boot from the USB stick.
