Is the saving in charging time really significant compared to a charger that delivers less power? I already have the charger for my old phone, so I'm reluctant to make the investment. Any advice?
It all depends on the power of your charger. The weakest chargers are around 5W, many around 20W. This 45W charger therefore delivers a lot more power, but only for a (relatively) short time on a charge from 0 to 100% (it will only deliver its maximum power between 25 and 75% per example, the rest will be at reduced power). So going from a 20W to a 45W charger isn't really going to divide the recharge time by 2. It's also worth noting that the Nothing Phone is USB Power Delivery 3.0 compatible, so you don't have to buy this charger. Brands like Ugreen or Anker offer models that aren't much more expensive but have several ports and can go up to 65 or 100W (8 or even more). There's no risk to your phone, but it will allow you to recharge other more power-hungry devices such as power banks, laptops, tablets, etc, or several phones simultaneously, more quickly.
