Unfortunately, I cannot answer the specific request for the Lenovo W520 type. I bought the disk "on spec" for my old MSI A7005 notebook (model NO MS-1731) based on the mechanical dimensions and the interface connector: Installed and worked :-)!

You can install it. However, the disc slot of the W520 has a height of 9.5mm and the Intenso Top Performance is 7mm high. But if you already have a corresponding adapter (rubber frame) or something similar, then you will be able to use the disc.
