However, Jabra, Plantronics, etc. each offer their own dongles to achieve the best possible quality.

If such a headset is paired with a BT dongle as a phone/mobile phone, then this will work. However, one "blocks" one of the two slots on the headset and only the proprietary one, e.g. from Jabra with its own dongle, remains.
