You connect your TV and your source (e.g. AppleTV with eArc) to the Arcana, then you have an HDMI with eARC output, which you can use for the soundbar (no picture is transmitted here). This way you can use the eARC stream of your source if your TV does not have an eARC output. With the Arcana, however, you can only connect one source and not several (e.g. Playstation and AppleTV). For this you need an HDMI switch.

In my setup, I have connected an AppleTV4k, the Sonos ARC and a beamer. The beamer offers neither ARC nor eARC and therefore has to extract the eArc stream using Arcana. This device is responsible for that.
