Apple MacBook Air - 2024
No hackers yet, but university researchers have found a new hole in all Mac M1, M2 and M3 chips. They have a serious flaw through a side-channel attack that supposedly can't be fixed. They called the hole GoFetch and it will allow the security keys to be extracted from these chips. It works through the DPM part of the processors that prepare the data for processing. The keys can be retrieved directly through the application without root permissions, which makes it even more dangerous. This allows attackers to spy on user activity by exploiting functions in the target sequence of packets. They can also bypass protection technologies such as VPN or Tor.
Thanks for the tip!
