Question: Connected Samsung monitor is not recognised correctly and displays a Generic monitor with 640 x 480. What is the problem? Answer from Samsung Monitor: "Since the laptop only supports 1.2 via Mini DP, please test the conversion in the monitor from 1.4 to 1.2. Furthermore, the docking station acts like an adapter and converts the signal. It is important that the required bandwidth is supported via the mini HDMI. I think that helps to answer some questions. I bought the "Cable ULS Cert. 4K High Speed Mini-DisplayPort - HDMI, 1 m" cable - connected and it works.
