Quick question. How do I get the original version of Davinci Resolve 17? Blackmagic doesn't sell it itself. What does dongle mean for this software? Is it true that you buy the software once and then you can always update to the next version for free? Many thanks

DR17 can be downloaded here https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products... But it is still in the beta stage. Dongle in this case means that you get a USB stick with the licence on it. This means you can use Davinci Studio on any PC/Mac. Regarding your last question, I can't give you a 100% correct answer. From what I have read so far, it seems that you can update for free.
