I only have one negative experience with the Icy Box IB-1817M-C31! Out of the box, it didn't recognise my SSD and never worked! Digitec took it back without any problems and I bought instead the excellent ASUS Rog Strix Arion. The specifications on the ASUS site do not mention any limit for the size of the SSD placed inside. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't exceed 1TB. The transfer is very fast and it's compatible with the Android OTG function. https://rog.asus.com/storage/rog-strix-arion-model/spec/

I don't understand the question. This Icy Box has USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 2 interface. It doesn't get any faster than that. Otherwise, wait for Thunderbolt 5 / USB-4.
