The plug connecting the WD15 docking station to my Dell laptop is faulty. I'd like to replace it without having to buy another ocking at CHF 260.00. What should I do?

I was able to do some research and yes, there is a way to replace the cable without replacing the docking station. You would have to remove the host cable with a few simple steps and two screws. The following cable would be suitable:
