I have decided to keep the lens. What I can tell you is that the lens is exceptionally good. With the exception of 14mm, there is minimal colour fringing at fully open aperture and very high magnification. Contrast, sharpness and geometry are excellent. Architecture is shown very well without pincushion and barrel distortion. A very good NIKKOR S lens.
(On the underside near the bayonet, there has been a blunt 8mm small dent without scratches. Hard to see. The warranty expired in 2022)
