What is the status today 15.12.22 - does the device work out of the box with Swisscom? Are the devices sold here "officially Swiss" or are some of them imports from e.g. Germany? Does it make a difference when using a Swisscom Sim?

While not easy to setup, you _can_ use Swisscom with it, I configured mine yesterday. You need to have an officially supported SIM (typically German or French, prepaid or from a friend), start the setup with that SIM in your phone, and switch back to your Swisscom SIM while the camera is open for registering the watch eSIM. After that the Swisscom connection works perfectly on the watch.

Google Pixel devices are still not officially distributed by Google in Switzerland in 2022 and are not compatible with Swiss providers. Thus, they are always import devices.
