Can the bed rail also be used for children under 18 months? I don't see anything that speaks against this. Or why the note "from 18 months"?

I don't know. Maybe because most babies sleep in a cot. I think that the age of the child is basically irrelevant. The bed guard is only meant to prevent the child from falling out of bed. It works regardless of age.
