Product details
A Compendium of Brassicaceae in the Indian Subcontinent offers a comprehensive analysis of the Brassicaceae family found in the wild habitats of the Indian subcontinent. This scholarly book is based on primary observations of various taxa as well as the examination of herbarium specimens and taxonomic literature. It highlights the distribution, phyto-endemism, possible fossil ancestors, and the threats faced by existing taxa. The analysis covers the countries of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and India, revealing that the Brassicaceae family is only weakly represented in this region. Furthermore, the current status of phyto-endemism is compared with data from earlier studies conducted in the 19th century to provide a better understanding of the dynamics of Brassicaceae species in the Indian subcontinent.
