Luise is actually just an ordinary child – except for the fact that everything always goes horribly wrong for her. Even as a baby, she unintentionally leaves a trail of destruction in her stroller. As a child, she accidentally lets a herd of horses loose in the town or causes the sea to nearly run dry. The adults repeatedly respond to Luise's clumsiness with the exclamation, "But Luise!" And of course, a visit to a rocket station also ends in a mishap, and Luise unexpectedly finds herself in outer space. Fortunately, on a strange planet, she meets Luis, who is going through a similar experience. Together, they prove what can be achieved with cleverness and self-confidence.

Jürgen Banscherus tells a wonderfully funny-absurd story that many children (and adults) who also have everything go wrong can surely relate to. Franziska Neubert visually brings Luise's adventure to life with woodcut illustrations that are sometimes humorous and sometimes dreamily whimsical.
