Adolf Bayer (1909 in Würzburg; 1999) was a German architect of the modern era. His buildings are characterized by a varied play of colors and materials. He often used light clinker, which he contrasted with dark red plastered walls and combined with delicate blue window frames. Bayer initially studied art and then architecture at the Technical University of Karlsruhe from 1929 to 1932. He graduated in 1935. He was an assistant to Otto Ernst Schweizer at the Technical University in Karlsruhe (until 1937) and subsequently worked as an architect for the city administration of Mainz, also involved in the city's reconstruction under the direction of Marcel Lods.
