Aequidens pulcher
German, Mariam T. Tennoe, Lambert M. Surhone, Susan F. Henssonow, 2010Product details
The Blue Acara (Andinoacara pulcher, lat. pulcher - beautiful) is a cichlid species from Trinidad and the opposite parts of Venezuela. It was first introduced to Germany as an aquarium fish in 1906. Until now, it has been the leading species of the so-called Aequidens pulcher group, a group of species that distinguishes itself from other members of the genus Aequidens by differences in coloration, bone structure, and scale arrangement, and for which a closer relationship to the genus Bujurquina has been suspected.
