The book "Agroecology" by Angela Hilmi offers a critical analysis of current approaches to sustainable development and their limitations. It proposes viewing the concepts of eco-development and co-evolution with nature as new paradigms. Instead of relying on linear technical solutions, the book examines the crucial tensions and turning points that can initiate a transformation towards greater harmony and well-being. A concrete example from a pilot project in Mozambique is presented to highlight innovative approaches for investments and smallholder agriculture. This work is aimed at agricultural communities, researchers, policymakers, and development organizations, encouraging the promotion of autonomy and self-determination in agriculture.
