Isa and Alexej have escaped the hunter, but their luck is short-lived: During one of their forays into the forest, Isa finds a raven with its heart cut out. Her dark premonition becomes a certainty when she learns that the dead bird is actually a raven from Alexej's flock. Then Alexej is kidnapped, and each passing day brings him new torment. To save him, Isa must ally herself with the man who frightens her the most: Sergius. Together, they devise a desperate plan, where each of them must pay a high price. But they have no other choice, as death comes with swift wings.
