The author of this volume, Richard Steche, was a professor of the history of technical arts and practical aesthetics at the Dresden Polytechnic (now the Technical University of Dresden) from 1880 and served as the second director of the Royal Saxon Antiquities Society (since 1878). In addition to his successful work as an architect, Steche became known as the first cataloger of the art monuments of Saxony with his 15-volume work "Descriptive Representation of the Older Architectural and Art Monuments of the Kingdom of Saxony." Here, he describes in words and images the architectural and art monuments of the Dippoldiswalde district. From A like Altenberg, through Bärenstein, Dippoldiswalde, Frauenstein, Fürstenau, Geising, Glashütte, Hermsdorf, Lauenstein, Possendorf, Schmiedeberg, to Seifersdorf and many more. Illustrated with 50 black and white images.
