Germany still faces the challenge of achieving its goals and significantly reducing its CO2 emissions. One of the main problems regarding CO2 emissions in Germany is its dependence on fossil fuels, which stands at 88.4% overall. In this study, the variables of CO2 emissions and vehicle stock were characterized. The data were tested for normality using the Shapiro-Wilk analysis, and a Pearson correlation test revealed a correlation of r=-0.725, indicating a moderate correlation between the two variables. Since the r-value is negative, it suggests an inverse relationship between the variables. A future projection was created using the least squares model year by year from 2024 to 2030, resulting in CO2 emissions of 668.2 million tons in 2024, which are expected to decrease to 607.0 million tons by 2030, thereby continuing to jeopardize the global environmental goals of reducing CO2 emissions and maintaining the global temperature below 1.5 ºC.
