The central question of this work is the issue of the interaction between Chinese and European thought, which first showed its concrete effects around the first third of the 20th century. This period thus also forms the narrower temporal framework of this study. The aforementioned question is explored in this work using the example of the idea of anarchism, whose various forms and elements can be traced across the largely independent intellectual developments in Europe and China.
