Arthur Schopenhauer, a German philosopher and author of numerous works, is regarded as a representative of subjectivism and epistemology and is often mentioned in connection with the Enlightenment thinker Immanuel Kant. His work had a significant influence during his lifetime, and the philosophy of the 19th century was largely shaped by him. In the present book, a reprint of the third heavily revised edition from 1907, Johannes Volkelt explores Schopenhauer's life and work and describes the ideas that preoccupied the famous thinker.
