Heike Herrgen, born in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, is a pharmacist and mother of three children. After working for pharmaceutical companies in Frankfurt and Heidelberg, she now writes for children and teenagers. Her youth book manuscript "Emilys Sommer" made it to the longlist of the Carlsen Impress writing competition in 2016, and "Aurelias zauberblaues Geheimnis" is her debut novel. She lives near Heidelberg with her husband and youngest daughter. Claudia Gabriele Meinicke, born in 1967 in Mecklenburg, is a PhD scientist. In 2007, she began to explore oil and watercolor painting. She took numerous courses with renowned artists, including at the Academy of Graphic Design and Book Art in Leipzig. Since 2015, she has dedicated herself entirely to painting and illustrating children's books.
