A beginner should not start with too many colonies in the first year, but rather take their time and gradually get accustomed to working with the bee colonies without stress. Two to three colonies are a good guideline for slowly entering beekeeping. Although a bee colony is not domesticated, regular targeted interventions are necessary, sometimes multiple times a week, and in the case of queen breeding, even to the day and hour. Financial investments for colonies, hives, and other beekeeping equipment are required at the beginning. Some rarely used tools, such as those for wax processing, are often available at beekeeping associations and can be borrowed from there, or ownership communities have formed.
