The energy transition in Germany is fundamentally changing existing energy supply structures with the phase-out of nuclear power and the expansion of renewable energies, having a significant spatial impact. Biomass, wind power, and photovoltaic systems are some of the physically visible manifestations of this change. New power lines are also being added. However, these developmental processes are by no means conflict-free. The book provides insights into the various facets and components of the energy transition and contextualizes them.
