The acquisition of equity through initial public offerings or capital increases as part of share sales on global securities markets is a commonly used alternative for financing growth and innovation for companies and governments. In Russia, however, companies primarily finance themselves through their own resources. The aim of this work is to shed light on the significance and current situation of equity acquisition in Russia.
